PTA presidents from Mayport Beach Elementary Coastal Science Academy, MECSA, Mayport Elments Coastal Sciences, and Mayport Elementrary Schools are holding a meeting today to discuss the upcoming school year and their responsibilities in order to prepare for fall classes.
Members of the Mayport-Elementary Coastal Science and MECS Coastal Science PTA will meet at 7 p.m. at the Mayports PTA Clubhouse located at the beach, located at 1635 E. 6th St. The meeting will begin with a brief introduction of the PTA and what it will be doing for the coming school year.
Following the meeting, members of the teachers and school administrators will review the curriculum, plan curriculum activities, and discuss what the teachers will need to prepare to teach and support their students.
The meeting is open to members of all Mayport elementary schools, but will focus on teachers and students from Mayports elementary schools.
The Mayport PTA has a long history of working with the school districts of MECs and Mayports Elements, and the meeting is designed to facilitate this work.
If members of a Mayport school district decide to opt out of participating in the meeting on Friday, they will have 30 days to do so.
PTA Presidents will work closely with their teachers and administrators to make sure they have all of the information needed to plan curriculum and activities for the fall.
This is the second meeting of the year for PTA leaders in the region, with meetings scheduled this week for Mayport MEC-elementary and Maypets MEC schools.
