How to raise a child in the South of England in 2018

The South of the UK is the epicentre of childhood obesity, with one in three people aged 5-14 living in the region.

That’s the worst it’s been in decades, according to a new report from the Centre for Children and Families, which has looked at trends across England and Wales.

The report finds that between 2014 and 2019, the proportion of the population aged 5 and over who were obese jumped from 11% to 17%.

The rise in obesity among children and young people is particularly worrying as more parents are now opting to share the responsibility of raising their children in the home, with older children in particular being more likely to be obese.

A lot of the blame lies with the way that we treat our children.

Children are supposed to be safe and healthy, yet, in many ways, they are more likely than adults to be overweight and obese, says Professor Ian Haughey from the University of Cambridge.

They’re not doing enough exercise or engaging in healthy behaviour.

Haughew says it’s “very concerning” that there are so many children living in homes that are “not good for them”.

He says children’s physical activity levels are still not good enough to keep them healthy and fit.

“It’s very difficult for us to encourage our children to play in a safe environment.

Children’s physical fitness is a very important issue for children and they are very often undernourished in their development,” Haughews says.

Haughesth says parents should also be looking to see whether their child is getting enough exercise. “

The more active children are the more likely they are to do well academically, to achieve in school and to be able to work in the labour market.”

Haughesth says parents should also be looking to see whether their child is getting enough exercise.

He says the key is to take a balanced approach to this.

“We need to be looking at the whole child in relation to a range of factors and that means taking a balanced view of what’s going on with the individual and the environment, rather than just focusing on a particular child, and not looking at one individual child, but looking at all children,” he says.

Children often get a bad rap for their obesity, and there’s evidence to back up this, says Dr Julie O’Connell from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.

The Centre for Childhood Obesity says that over half of children aged 5 to 19 are overweight, and that they often have “lack of physical activity, poor eating habits and poor sleep”. “

There’s been a lot more research about this, and we know that children are actually more likely when their parents are overweight to have a higher BMI, which is not only linked to obesity, but to poor diet, too,” she says.

The Centre for Childhood Obesity says that over half of children aged 5 to 19 are overweight, and that they often have “lack of physical activity, poor eating habits and poor sleep”.

The report found that over 90% of children who are overweight have some sort of behavioural problem.

A large proportion of children with obesity also have mental health issues.

These include anxiety and depression, ADHD and eating disorders.

And for some, obesity is a “gateway” to other health issues, like poor physical and mental health.

This may be particularly the case for girls, who are more at risk for obesity as they get older.

Dr Joanna Robinson from the Department of Health and Social Care at the University Hospitals of London, says girls have the lowest life expectancy of all children.

“If they are overweight and there are no exercise and eating behaviours, they have the highest risk of developing type 2 diabetes, which leads to cardiovascular disease and dementia,” she explains.

And it’s not just boys who are affected by obesity.

“I think that the wider health system, particularly health professionals, is in need of more work,” Robinson says.

She says a “big problem” for the health service is that too many doctors are overweight.

She adds: “We don’t really have a health service for all children, so we have to look at what we can do to support children who have obesity, whether that’s through early intervention or by working with parents to change behaviours that are damaging.”

Robinson also notes that children can often get more than their fair share of stress, which can be exacerbated by their weight.

But she believes that the government’s approach to tackling obesity is “quite a good one”.

“They are really moving in the right direction, but we have a long way to go.

It’s about getting more physical activity into children’s lives and making sure that the socialisation and support they need is there,” she adds.
