The National Ocean and Atmospheric Admin.
is launching a scholarship program for coastal scientists.
The program, which begins in April, will give scientists a $10,000 grant and an additional $5,000 for post-doc work.
The Coastguard and NOAA will split the money between coastal scientists and researchers on other oceanographic projects.
The National Ocean Service will also fund research that could improve navigation and ocean quality.
The goal is to support scientists who are researching coastal hazards and coastal hazards that threaten coastal communities.
NOAA is looking for the best scientists and those who have the most expertise.
